The JSA fangirl in me spent the entire episode a-squee.

Granted, we didn't get to see Hawkman's hairy chest (and treasure trail), but the Hawkman and Green Arrow (or should that be Hawkman/Green Arrow) snarkfest and crankypants 'paloooza was everything I wanted from the two of them.

Oh god, this series is gloriously slashy, and the icing on the cake is Det. Lydia Adams, who is made of moxie and brains.

It's not a standard procedural cop story. It's like Homicide and Life got together and had a kid -- it's got that perfect mix of gritty realism, fully realized characters, and "truth is stranger than fiction" quirky cases.

Oh and Michael Cudlitz is criminally hot as canonically gay cop John Cooper.
