One of the things that amuses me when I'm writing is how the POV (and character's word choice) impact the "grade level" of story.

Landry Clarke usually clocks in around 5th or 6th grade.

Sam Winchester is 4th to 5th grade.

Ronon Dex is 4th to 5th grade.

Tim Riggins is 3rd grade.

So far, Jax Teller is 2nd grade.

(That's probably going to change as the story progresses and I polish it, but right now? Snerk!)

Coach and Tami are both at East Dillon High. Landry and Julie are Seniors (yes, I'm going to stick with that bit of crappy unexplained defies-logic and contradicts your own canon bit of retconning) both at EDHS.

SPN events are all timeshifted forward so that Dean is 21, Sam is 17, John is a Gulf War vet, and The Impala was his first car, gotten from his father who bought it new -- so it's a total family heirloom. Other than that, it's all the same.

Sweet St. Peter on a shit pickle, we're having the warnings debate/wank again.

Yes, I will warn for dark themes, etc, and I think that that's only fair because a book cover/movie trailer/TV teaser usually gives enough of a warning about content to let a person know if it's the sort of thing they tend to enjoy, but I'm sure as hell not going to warn for anything that's a plot point or something specific to a character.

Why?

For the same frikkin reason that Cameron doesn't tell you upfront that Jack dies at the end of Titanic, or that Abrams doesn't tell you in the trailer that Spock's mother dies before his eyes and that Vulcan gets obliterated in the New Trek movie, and for the same reason Whedon didn't tell us "Fred dies this episode" and/or "Hope you're not too fond of Wesley or Lindsey."

That's. Why.
